April 13, 2016
Kapolei, Oahu, Hawaii
Q. Have to be pretty happy with a 3-under for your first round.
SEI YOUNG KIM: Oh, yeah. I played good today. First nine I little miss the par so I got two 3 putt. Yeah.
And then back nine I got three in a row birdie, par-5. Yeah, good momentum for me.
Yeah, I played good today.
Q. What do you try to focus on in this wind to stay steady?
SEI YOUNG KIM: I like to play windy, because if into the wind I can hit the (indiscernible) shot. Even if the left to right wind, my nature fly right hook, so it's easy today. Yeah, so very comfortable today.
Q. You feel like it was to your advantage a little bit?
SEI YOUNG KIM: Yeah, a little bit left to right advantage for me, but the right to left wind I have to make kind of shot making. Yeah, that's good words, but, yeah.
Q. Coming in as defending champion, how comfortable do you feel on this course?
SEI YOUNG KIM: Yes, when I walk on the course a lot of memory coming at me. So, yeah, very comfortable.
Then, yeah, give me a lot of energy, that memory.
