THE MODERATOR: Questions for Kam.
Q. How meaningful was it to score a touchdown in your last game?
KAMDYN BENJAMIN: Obviously that's a memory I'm going to have forever. That's a great thing to take with me. But it was just nice to go out there one more time with the guys, be able to enjoy the game with them.
Q. You've been the spokesperson all year long. What was your emotion when you heard about the firing of Kevin Wilson?
KAMDYN BENJAMIN: I mean, obviously it was a tough thing to hear right now. As a team, we just wanted to stick together and try to finish as best we could. Obviously it's nothing you want to see happen. It's part of the game. I just want the best for the young guys. That's all I think about when I think about stuff like that.
I have a lot of faith in the administration and everything that they're going to take care of them, this program is going to be good going forward.
Q. How would you sum up your senior season?
KAMDYN BENJAMIN: I don't know if I necessarily would know how to sum it up for me. I just kind of wanted to go out there and give it my all, just have the best year I could for me and for this team and everything. Obviously it didn't go the way we wanted it to.
I wouldn't trade any of those guys or any of those moments for anything. I'm just going to cherish the moments we had and just kind of look back and enjoy all the bonds and friendships I created this year.
Q. Looking back at it, analyzing it, what was the disconnect in terms of the talent you have and the result?
KAMDYN BENJAMIN: I think we have a lot of good talent on this team. Obviously we're a younger team. We made some mistakes out there. We weren't always able to capitalize on plays that were there, whether that be routes not coming through or protection breaking down or a missed tackle here or there. Obviously we had some miscues.
At the end of the day too many added up and it cost us too many times. I think we just got to grow on that and build on that.
I think those guys have a lot of potential. I think there's a lot of potential in this place. I believe there's some winning to be had. We're going to have to clean some things up as the off-season comes through and come back better and stronger next year.
Q. You've had Coach Switzer as a wide receiver coach. What was it like this week having him as the head coach?
KAMDYN BENJAMIN: He's a great guy. He comes with a lot of energy. Brings a lot of energy to the group. I think he did a great job with all things considered. We were fired up. We had some good practices.
Obviously the result was kind of what it was. It was a great experience to see him kind of in that role, try to go out there and get one last one.
Q. A theme this year was the amount of younger players that had to play. What do you think about the future of this program, the pieces they have to build on here?
KAMDYN BENJAMIN: I have a lot of belief in this program. That's the one reason I came back, the one reason I was here.
I think there's a lot of winning to be had here. It's a great place, a great city, a great university. This program can win. I fully honestly believe that.
I believe they have a lot of talent. You've seen a lot of flashes from Lloyd and Viron, the receivers in Joe and Jacob, different people that have been out there. You see on defense Buddha and Zach, several other people making plays. Elijah Green.
I think there's a lot of talent to be had. There's a lot that you haven't seen that haven't taken reps yet that have been grinding all year.
If they can kind of stay together, keep building on those things, clean some of those mistakes we weren't able to do this year up, I think there's a lot of good potential in that group and they can do some good things.
THE MODERATOR: Thanks, Kam.
KAMDYN BENJAMIN: Thank you.
