Q. Was it a party in the locker room like Chris said. What was this like?

OWEN McCOWN: For sure. Tons of energy. Bunch of recruits in there so we tried to make some room. Guys were excited for sure.

Q. What were the keys today against this Memphis team?

OWEN McCOWN: I think a big message this week and it showed last week was every play matters. In our heartbreaking loss last week, those early quarters we had some plays we didn't execute and it came back to bite us. Really that was the message this week. I thought we did that for the most part.

Q. How did the offensive line play today for you?

OWEN McCOWN: Yeah, played great. Their defense, they like to only rush three so it gives me a lot of time to survey the field. Receivers did a great job getting open. I thought everyone executed for the most part.

Q. First game without Oscar and the tight ends come up with four touchdowns. What was the key to getting tat group going?

OWEN McCOWN: Yeah, from top to bottom that's our deepest group on the team. I think we lose Big Oscar like that, this whole week he's been pouring into those young guys and they really stepped up and it showed today.

Q. Can you say more about that? What has Oscar's involvement been like? Sounded like he was getting those guys going.

OWEN McCOWN: Yeah, yeah, just this whole week, you see it after plays, Houston and Oscar talking and they're just talking about Oscar giving him keys on what to do. And he's doing that really with the whole group and his leadership has really shown this week.

Q. Second straight four-touchdown game for you. What sort of continued improvement do you see in yourself as the season goes along?

OWEN McCOWN: Yeah, yeah, my job is just to execute the offense. I feel like I am growing this year, but like I said, that's the standard and that's what we're supposed to do.

Q. What is it on those big plays with your connection with Chris? Seems like you guys got a connection there.

OWEN McCOWN: Yeah, yeah, Chris is somebody I've known my whole life. We've thrown all these deep balls -- like I said, thrown them my whole life. To see that happen the past couple weeks is really special for us.

Q. Can you put into words what this win means to the team? You guys have had kind of three brutal losses the last month or so.

OWEN McCOWN: Yeah, just shows our resilience. Starts from the top, the seniors, man. For them to have the losses the way they happened and every day to come back every day and have energy and leadership every practice really shows our program and the character that each one of us has for sure.
