Quick Quotes
Q. What a round, 65 out there today. This golf course is tricky but you always seem to know what you're doing out here. What is it you like about Wilshire so much?
MINJEE LEE: Yeah, like I said before, I think it kind of reminds me a little bit of home, just the look of the bunkers and just how they're situated on each hole. Yeah, it just kind of gives me good vibes.
I started pretty -- just with pars, and then made three birdies in a row. That was nice to finish off my front nine. Then a couple more on the back nine. It was a nice, solid day.
Q. Talk to me about the back nine. There were four on the back nine, you made two back-to-back on 1 and 2. What did you switch up? Obviously bogeyed 17 which is a hard hole, but what did you switch going into the back nine?
MINJEE LEE: Nothing really. I just tried to play every shot with 100 percent commitment and just do my very best, so that's pretty much my mindset, so that's what I was doing.
Q. Tell me about that birdie on the ninth. That's probably a skin today.
MINJEE LEE: I hit a great shot in, and I was like, I think it's going to be pretty good. It just went in the right edge because it's so quick down that slope. No, it was nice to come off with a birdie.
Q. You always talk about your ball-striking is your key here. Were you able to get the putter rolling today? The greens are tricky and they're quick, too.
MINJEE LEE: Yeah, I think because I played in the morning they were less bumpy. Obviously poa annua changes during the day. Yeah, really great surfaces and not as much wind. It's just picking up now. I drove it really well today and hit some really nice shots, as well, so overall it was a pretty balanced day.
Q. Off to a hot start, three days left. What will you take from this round or work on as you head into the next three days?
MINJEE LEE: I think I said this yesterday, but I'm really just focusing on my processes right now. I had a great day today, but I'm going to stick to what I know and do best and do everything that I can in my control. That will be my goal.
