Press Conference
Notre Dame 35, Clemson 14
Q. Logan, does the performance of the offensive line tonight, the ability to control the line of scrimmage, Dabo said it a butt kicking, how good was the offensive line tonight?
LOGAN DIGGS: They were unbelievable tonight. Kudos to them and Coach Harry. They been attacking all weekend. They know how much was on the line this weekend. I think they want went out and proved that. They were one of the best O-lines in the country this week.
Q. When did you get a sense like, all right, the offensive line and the run game is going to be what you want it to be tonight? How early in the game did you feel?
LOGAN DIGGS: I would probably say maybe after my like third or fourth carry. When you're back there and you're getting the ball and you see them pushing them back and you see them holes opening, like a lot of holes that we had tonight we ran through untouched. Kudos to the O-line again.
Q. Just going off that, just curious, what's it like in the huddle when you have run play after run play and you know they're not stopping you?
LOGAN DIGGS: The O-line probably more excited than everybody else. They like having the game in their hands, and we always tell them, like we're only going to go as far as you guys go. They take that challenge and they run with it and they do a fantastic job.
Q. Just the experience of this game as a whole for this group after a roller coaster of a season, what was it like and what was the locker room like afterwards?
LOGAN DIGGS: I mean, it was a really, really good experience for all of us. Everybody is confident and motivated. At the end of the day, job is not finished. We still got work to do. Going to go back in tomorrow and get back after it. Onto the next game.
Enjoy tonight, but after tonight then we got to move onto the next opponent.
Q. What can you say about the fans tonight?
LOGAN DIGGS: Fans were great. We loved the energy. We appreciated them so much tonight. We need this every home game.
Q. Fans stormed the field, but before that, coaches came down a little early. Did you see Coach Rees on the sideline? What went through your head?
LOGAN DIGGS: I saw him and gave him a hug. I was like, thank you. Thank you for continuing to trust me and the whole running back room and the O-line, putting the game in our hands. That means a lot, coming from him especially. He likes to throw the ball.
He's like, we need to run the ball, and when we need to run the ball, he going to run it.
Q. (No microphone.)
LOGAN DIGGS: Coach Freeman is a players' coach, so he is not that coach that's going to come into the meeting and go off on you. He's that type of coach that's going to come into the meeting and tell you what you need to do to get better, and if you want to continue to play, this is what you need to do.
And if you keep on doing what you need to do, then this is going to be the outcome. It's really just a mindset of what we want to do after he delivers the message. He going to keep on being the same Coach Freeman every single day, every single day of the week.
He going to tell us the same things and we just got to continue to be motivated and have that self-confidence to go out there and play for him and play for this university.
