LOS ANGELES FOOTBALL CLUB MEDIA CONFERENCE
October 30, 2022
Press Conference
LAFC 3, Austin FC 0
Q. At the beginning of the season, it seemed like you were in a little bit of the starting position, Steve mentioned maybe you were a bit more defensive and now you've consolidated yourself to starter. What can you say about your growth?
CRISTIAN ARANGO: At the start of the season -- I love to work, I love my work, I love my job, I woke up every day hoping to be the best, healthy and also give my all and with God's blessing, we're here.
Q. What are your thoughts on the way this team came out in the first half, the energy and intensity and just the ability to pin them?
CRISTIAN ARANGO: It was fundamental that our team came out resting having contact pressure. It as overall assertive for our movements to wining goals, everything was fundamental. That was so we could go out of the half with a goal. In the second half, we knew they were going to be a bit more intense. We had to be a bit more under pressure in that sense so we could counteract their game and that's what we ended up doing.
Q. What has it been like for you the last two games to have been so productive for the team, scoring in the 93rd minute in the last game and the first goal in this game so early, what have your emotions been, being so impactful for this team?
CRISTIAN ARANGO: You know, personally, I always look to give an advantage to the team, whether it's me scoring or not. Thankfully in this instance, we got an advantage, and you know, overall, it's just important for something that the team and the fans deserved.
Q. Can you tell us how you guys will work with the next game whether you face New York or Philadelphia?
CRISTIAN ARANGO: Yeah, we are going to have to work with the same intensity with the same level of focus and same attitude and personality. We must be strong mentally and we have to know that this is a game where we can't hold back with anything and we have to give it our all.
Q. Have you thought about getting the Landon Donovan MVP Award this season? Do you think your performances seen have helped you for it?
CRISTIAN ARANGO: Not precisely but more than anything, providing for my team -- contributing to my team, and also being a fundamental player so that we can bring our team to the level that it is.
Q. Can you talk about what it's like playing for Steve and the way he has, being a little bit more laid back in his style what can you say about that?
CRISTIAN ARANGO: He allows us so enjoy our game and focus on what we do best, playing well. We definitely have a well-rounded game and the way we pressured, we went above and beyond our level and so that was fundamental today.
