LOS ANGELES FOOTBALL CLUB MEDIA CONFERENCE

November 2, 2021

Raheem Edwards

Press Conference

LAFC 1, Vancouver 1

THE MODERATOR: Give us your thoughts on tonight's game.

RAHEEM EDWARDS: Yeah, obviously we know it was a big matchup against Vancouver, a team that's in the same position as us trying to win a playoff spot.

I thought we played pretty well. Obviously you could tell by the shots on goal, we pushed the game. The first score, I take all onus on that. It's a mistake on my end that led to a goal. I thought our reaction to get a goal before half was massive obviously. So that was great.

Second half I thought we pushed the game really well. Just the ball didn't drop our way to get a goal in the net. Yeah, all in all it was a good game. Now we got to look to the last game of the season, a huge matchup.

Q. Not everything is lost. What is the mentality and the message within the group?

RAHEEM EDWARDS: Just belief, belief that we'll still find a way to make the playoffs. We'll get a win in Colorado and some results will go our way and we'll get in the playoffs. Keeping the belief, not hanging our heads down. Looking forward to the game in Colorado, a huge one.

Q. For you personally you've shown great things, trying to switch in different positions, step up. How has that process been for you?

RAHEEM EDWARDS: The coaching staff has been excellent obviously. They're so detailed in the way they want you to play, what position, this and that. They've been excellent.

For me playing any position, it's not that I'm not used to it, it's just that I just got to put my head down and work hard and work for the team and do what the team needs me to do. That's basically it.

Q. We saw what Cifu and Bella can do when they come on. How much confidence does that give the team?

RAHEEM EDWARDS: Yeah, Cifu and Bella. Bella as you know, he's our match winner, a guy that could at any moment of the game create a goal out of nothing or give us that little boost we need up top.

Yeah, those guys are obviously a huge help. I think the guys that that have been playing right now, Brian and Chicho have been doing excellent. That just adds more firepower. Hopefully we get them ready and sharp and we go to Colorado and win three points.

Q. Mamadou Fall, what do you think of him in general?

RAHEEM EDWARDS: Fall, he's a really, really good player. He has all the tools to be a top, top player. Obviously he's a young guy, aggressive. He knows his abilities. He's really athletic. He's good on the ball, too, which a lot of people don't see because he's such an athletic guy.

He's really good on the ball, has all the tools to play at the top, top level. He's a young guy, but he doesn't act like a young guy. He acts like he's been here for a very long time. His attitude is always great. He always wants to improve and be better. He has all the tools to be a top, top player. He is a really good guy. A really, really, big competitor, which is massive, which is key for his development.

Yeah, Fall is a great guy, a good player.

Q. The season isn't over. What do you have to do better to have a positive result against Colorado?

RAHEEM EDWARDS: I think we got to move the ball quicker, be better in possession. Take our opportunities. As you seen today, we had a lot of opportunity, but we just couldn't put one in the back of the net. I think we have to be a little more cutthroat in front of goal and get our goal.

I think defensively we have been playing pretty well of late. I think just us taking our chances and being better in possession, starting with me. Yeah, that's it.
