Postgame Media Conference
QWUANTREZZ KNIGHT: I say just took guts, guts to want to finish a game. Like you said, last week versus Fresno we wasn't able to go in and absolutely finish the game the way we been coached.
This week during practice that's the main thing Coach Kelly was harping on, Finish, we have to finish, we have to finish, we have to finish, Bruins finish.
This game got down to a fourth quarter game, and we knew Stanford want to just going to roll over. Deep down in our head we knew we were going to have to come finish this game and that's what we did and I'm proud of the guys for that.
Q. What was it like it see Dorian come back and finish the way he did?
QWUANTREZZ KNIGHT: Oh, man that was great. Dorian literally put the team on his back. He was really down bad throughout this whole game, took a couple hits, and it was great to see him go in and literally, I'm going to win this game for us.
I think he went down one play and came right back in and threw a touchdown. I told him that's what we need from you. That was amazing.
Q. Run defense, you guys have been really good all season long. What's been so good about it for you guys?
QWUANTREZZ KNIGHT: Just having the guys up front. I feel like we have a great group of guys up front that's not only good pass rush -- literally they're just going to run to the ball all the time.
That's what we do. Even on the back end, secondary, linebackers, everybody on the team just going to run to the ball. That's how we're pretty good at run game.
Q. When they tied in the fourth quarter, did last year's Stanford game sink in your mind a little bit, a little extra motivation?
QWUANTREZZ KNIGHT: Oh, yeah, mos def. Once we got to that 21-21 mark in the fourth quarter I said, We been here before. We literally been here with this team last year, and we been here before with a team last week. We had two examples of what not to do and what to do, so I feel like we finished very well today.
Q. Carl Jones seemed really active. Seemed like he was getting a lot of play, in the backfield a lot. What did you think led to that?
QWUANTREZZ KNIGHT: Oh, man, Carl Jones, he's definitely a great player. Me and him have conversations all the time because we basically have the same job. You know, we say it's going to be me or you, and that's basically says am I going to make the play or you going to make the play.
Yeah, Carl Jones is going to get better throughout the season, and I'm excited to see what he does.
Q. (No microphone.)
QWUANTREZZ KNIGHT: Yeah.
Q. What were you saying to him after that?
QWUANTREZZ KNIGHT: Oh, man, you should've saw me on the sideline. I think I was jumping more than the cheerleaders were. Yeah, so once he came to the sideline I told him, go, go, go. That's what we do when we make tackles like that. Don't stop, just keep going. That was a great example of that, so I picked him up and gave him a big hug after he came onto the sideline.
Q. Have you guys made any kind of statement with this win after losing last week and bouncing back, showing that you can recover from a loss like that?
QWUANTREZZ KNIGHT: Yeah, mos def. We definitely did that. But it's not about making statements to us. It's about doing our job. Whatever the other people see from that is up to them.
But I feel like we come to practice every day and just do what we do. You know, if do what we do, we'll be all right.
Q. (No microphone.)
QWUANTREZZ KNIGHT: Yeah, so feel like they just made a couple plays and we didn't. They hit us in a cover two, hit us in cover two and I think No. 6 did a good job taking it to the end zone.
So, yeah, just getting back in on our defense and just doing what we do, we'll be all right.
