Q. Not the result you were looking for. What do you think went wrong out there?
KENDARIN RAY: We knew they was a good team coming into the game and we just going to fix the mistakes that we made throughout the game and progress and look forward from here.
Q. I know that the penalties were something that you guys struggled with last year, but you worked so hard to try to address those, was that disappointing to see some of those?
KENDARIN RAY: Yeah, just a little bit. Going into a game, you're not going to be perfect, but we just hope that we can wire them down throughout the season and not get as much.
Q. (No microphone.)
KENDARIN RAY: No, not that much of an affect. We missed them as well. But it's the same thing, going out, same game plan, here, just got to execute a little better.
Q. How disappointing is it with last year with so many highs to start out this way?
KENDARIN RAY: It's a little disappointing. We're going to go in, watch tape this week, and hopefully fix the mistakes and progress and keep on going. It's a long season ahead of us.
Q. What was the message from coach?
KENDARIN RAY: Just got to execute better. We knew coming in they was a good team and we know what we are capable of doing and we just got to execute a little better.
Q. With all the veterans you have in the locker room, do you feel good about bouncing back and having the leadership in that room to bounce back?
KENDARIN RAY: Yes, sir. I really do believe we'll bounce back after we clean up this tape and progress throughout the season. Like I said, it's a long season ahead of us and we just want to put it behind us now.
Q. The quarterback's numbers were really, really good. Was that just him having a good night or did you not do some things to help protect against that?
KENDARIN RAY: Congratulations to him for having a good game. We could have done a few things better to make his stats a little less than what they were, but we'll put that game behind us and focus on the next one.
Q. You missed a few snaps. I assume that was cramps. And there were other guys that were coming in and out. But on top of some of the suspension and everything else when it comes down to the fourth quarter and you need some crucial stops, how tough is that when you don't have kind of the full complement?
KENDARIN RAY: It's a crucial moment. It kind of gets crazy a little bit, but we try to lock in and read our keys and execute to try to make the stops that we need towards the end of the game.
